Thursday Afternoon 1:00 pm Ladies League
- This league is growing with 11 teams competing last season
- The league has a very diverse age group making it one of the more competitive ladies leagues in the Club. Teams enter as Rink of Choice and last season with one team having a bye each week, the bye team was utilized as spares. It is one of those leagues where teams are very evenly matched.
- There is usually 10 -11 games Oct-Dec and 10-11 games Jan-Mar
- Practice ice is available free to anyone paying dues in the club, times will be posted monthly in the club
- The winner of the first half and the winner of the second half are eligible for the Ladies Club Championship, they may also have the opportunity to compete to represent Nanaimo in the South Island Challenge Cup
- The majority of ladies in the club volunteer their services to help with banquets twice a year as a fund raising opportunity for the Club. The Thursday Afternoon Ladies help with salad prep Thursday preceding a banquet by coming in 1 ½ hours before game time. Teams in the league rotate through the schedule which is posted at the start of the season
- Volunteer opportunities are available in many areas of the club i.e.) bonspiels, league reps, coaching and instructing, special events, officiating, building projects, website updates, submitting league results to the local media weekly, gathering information for the Club Chronicle, etc…
- There is a wind-up banquet & prizes at the end of each season
