Purpose is to better
prepare novices for integration into club leagues and to improve interaction
of new and experienced curlers.

League runs for 10 weeks

2 experienced volunteer
players at skip and lead or second, matched with 2 novices at third and lead
or second form a team.

Games will be competitive,
tabulated, use regular rules but only extend for 6 ends to allow time for
on-ice discussion.

Games will be scored for 7
weeks with teams organized in 2 squares. teams will then curl the last 3
weeks in A,B,C,D squares.

Experienced volunteers will
offer advice on delivery, techniques, strategy, etiquette & equipment.

Volunteers will also share
information on club organization, communication, activities & facilities.
the club manager and directors are also available to help on request.

Experienced players who
play in at least one other NCC league will curl free. Novices will pay
regular rates of $110 (10 x $11).

Novices pairs will switch
volunteer pairs after 5 games in order to meet more club curlers and
experience different points of view.

Volunteers can sign up for
5 or 10 games as individuals or couples or as spares. The objective is to
involve as many volunteers as practical.

If any player cannot curl
on a designated night, he/she is expected to contact their skip giving as
much warning as possible. Each team is responsible for finding their own
spares - novice or volunteer. The league rep will maintain and post a list
of spares.
